here's a quick view of a piece i did for the "Between Truth & Paranoia" show @ Velocity in Watertown. I am happy i got it finished in time, cuz i painted it the morning before the opening! i didn't have time to scan it so better pics will be up when i get it back. Either way I'm stoked on it.

I also am part of the "Dimebag" group show @ Secret Project Robot in Brooklyn opening the same day (July 18th). Apparently their is an advert about it in Juztapox mag with a list of our names- sweet!

I can't wait to get back to the city...2 weeks baby!!!

"Moses was high"

High on Mount Sinai, Moses was on phychedelic drugs when he heard god deliver the 10 commandments. Benny Shanon, professor of Cognitive Phychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, claimed in Time & Mind Journal of Philosophy. He said the phychedelic effects of ayahuasca were comparable to those produced by concoctions based on bark of the acacia tree, that is frequently mentioned in the Bible.

Eye Scream!

Bad pics...but its late in the am & I have to be up for work in a few hours so they'll have to do for now. This took forever mainly because I didn't work on it at all over break, but its finaly done!!! Its part of the "Brooklyn Wasteland" series, trying to play with/limit color. Im happy overall, dont know about the cast shadow though. TO GET A CLOSER LOOK TAP ON PICS.

So I hate the colors that I originally used for this piece but I really like the drawing. I'm thinking of giving it a more of a mature/classic feel in black & white and making large prints on nice heavy paper. What do you think? PLEASE CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW DETAIL. Good News

My artwork got 2nd place in the Exhibition Competition, "Politics and Media" at Schafler Gallery!!! It was led and critiqued by guest curators Eleanor Heartney, Larry Litt and "Party Headquarters" artist Kyle Goen.

Also the Prospect Park Zoo has requested that my atwork be kept on for the next show. Apparently the curator said it's the first time they've shown a piece twice, but the staff & patrons love it so it's hard not to!

I'm off to San Francisco for a week!

I did this for Jordin's class. I am quite happy with the result because it is done in a mixed media of acrylic, gouache, colored pencil and ink which I have never used on wood/skateboard or much at all for that matter. I'm also stoked that I started and finished it this afternoon even with experimenting! SWEET!...more paintings on wood to come! (CLICK TO ENLARGE)

Jordin Isip

I'm taking Jordin Isip's class as one of my senior projects. He requires one piece per week, mostly editorial. Which will be good for me because I need to work on my time management & commercial designs. The assignment was to illustrate 'anxiety' by only using a bust (head, shoulders, chest). I want to thank everyone who came out to my opening at Ad Hoc, it was a huge success! Theres a great review at www.bushwickbk.com/archives/845. Heres some pics for those who didn't make it. However the show is up until February 15th so check it out if you can there is plenty of great upcoming artists to see.

Also, one of my pencil drawings has been selected to be on display at the Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn. I believe it is currently up and will be on display from now until at least summertime. So go see it please, plus it's a good excuse to see some furry creatures! ;D
